Currently, many websites exist for royalty free or license free stock images for use by artists, designers, and the general public. With the exception of a few sites that charge for their footage, there are very few places for student and amateur filmmakers to obtain royalty free establishing stock footage.

freestablishot.com is based on these ideas. Here, filmmakers have free access to donated stock footage at no charge. The only compensation is acknowledgement of where you obtained the video and a short credit to the original author of the video file.

Freestablishot.com is now up and running. Though in its infant stage, users are able to sort through categories and download exisiting files. Unfortunately, the library is limited and there is no search feature. All help is welcome!
